Emily Singleton | Counselling Psychologist

Emily is the Principal Psychologist of Common Ground Therapy.

A long-standing curiosity into the human experience led Emily into the world of mental health. She views therapy as a place to achieve greater awareness and empower yourself towards change.

Working primarily with adults, Emily approaches therapy from a goal-oriented space that works to explore and make sense of uncomfortable experiences and emotions. She particularly enjoys behavioural-based work as she sees great value in implementing practical strategies to achieve meaningful and lasting change.

Emily is an integrative Psychologist, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Positive Psychology (among others).

She enjoys the many personalities that walk into a therapy room, and welcomes the softly-spoken to the loud and quirky. She tends to work best with those who like warmth, humour and a gentle push in the right direction.

Emily is an Australian-trained Psychologist, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She regularly engages in ongoing professional development, with a keen interest in anxiety, mood disorders and relationship challenges, among other areas.
